Desert roses are a form of selenite, part of the gypsum family. It is known by many names, such as sand rose, selenite rose, gypsum rose, and gypsum rosettes. Desert roses are most commonly comprised of two minerals, selenite (gypsum) and/or barite. The rich desert sand color is very earthy and they a beautiful aesthetic.

Due to the nature of this product some variations in appearance may occur due to lighting conditions during photography. With it being a product of the earth some naturally occurring imperfections such as cracks and blemishes may be present. I do my best to photograph these items so that you will see any of the above.
